On 25th October, I started my new job at Latest in Beauty, a site that offers people the chance to try free samples of beauty products. Users can request 3 samples a month, which are sent in a very swish pink beauty box. It’s great to be part of a site that offers added value like this. With so many sites battling for traffic in the beauty world, there has to be a point of difference to succeed, and we all know everyone loves a freebie!
I’m the Editor and Community Manager, which means I write content for the blog, update the campaigns and website copy, and manage the social media presence for the brand. On that note, please do show some love to @latestinbeauty and facebook.com/latestinbeauty!
This is a great role that allows me to do a lot more writing, and I’m really excited to be moving back into the beauty world. When I was a student my final degree project was a beauty mag for young women, and back in my Shiny Media days I worked on the launch of Kiss and Makeup and continued to contribute to it during most of my time there. Though I’ve spent most of my first few years as a writer working in fashion, beauty is something I feel just as passionate about. You only have to look my overflowing dressing table to see that.
I’m still keeping up with the style side of things with Big Girls Browse, and will continue to work with some of my favourite brands on extra bits and bobs here and there, but this is a full time role so most of the time I will drowning in lipsticks and hairspray.
Yep, it’s a hard life!
